Tour Itinerary
The transfer to the Osogovo hut takes about 2:00 hours. On arrival we sort out our packs, go over what lies ahead and head in the direction of the Macedonian border.
Our walk begins at the Osogovo hut on broad forest roads. After a short break at the Prevala shelter the real climb begins, and with it the striking views. On the way to Ruen we will cross Shapka and Mali Ruen peaks, from which the panoramas become more exciting still. Having reached Ruen we take time to rest and photograph, enjoying the sweeping views. The descent brings us back to the Osogovo hut, where we will have time for lunch and a rest. Before we head home we will visit the Ancient Sequoias - one of the most striking natural corners of the Osogovo mountains.
