Peak Choveka - landscapes from the Osogovo mountain range
One-day panoramic hike in the bordering Osogovo mountain range. Ascend to peak Choveka at 2047m and its lower neighboring peak, Kyunek. Panoramic views of Rila and Pirin, just a step away from the big city. The program is suitable for first steps in winter mountain hiking with snowshoes.
Tour Itinerary
7:30 AM departure from Sofia, meeting point at Vasil Levski Stadium. The journey will take us approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes to reach Osogovo Hut. We'll have a brief briefing and instructions for the group, pack our backpacks, and our hike can begin.
Initially, we'll move through the forest, gradually gaining elevation. Unnoticed, we'll reach the summit of Kyunek. There will be time for a short break and our first photo session of the participants. From here, we continue along the ridge towards Chovek peak. The panoramas unfold one after another with every step. Here, the group reaches the highest point. We cannot help but admire the beauty of Ruen, while in the distance, Rila and Pirin stand proudly over the whitened horizon. That's how a wonderful winter mountain trip passes by. No stress or rushing, just nature and smiling people.
Returning to Sofia around 17:00/18:00.
