Autumn Programs
Autumn is the most pleasant season for hiking in Bulgaria — cooler days, crystal-clear air, settled weather without summer afternoon storms, and the golden colours of the forests. From September to November our guides run classic hikes in Central Balkan (Botev, Kozya Stena), Pirin (Vihren, Todorka) and Rila (Malyovitsa, Skakavitsa), as well as hikes in the Rhodopes. At this time of year the trails are emptier, the mountains quieter and the weather settled for multi-day trips. The kayaking season ends in early October on the sea, but continues on the Iskar and Vacha reservoirs until the end of the month. Autumn is also the best season to climb Mytikas (Olympus) — the warm Greek autumn allows hiking in settled weather right up to mid-November.
